For the 3rd edition of the Festival de Toulouse, Ibrahim Maalouf was given carte blanche to pay tribute to Antoine de Saint Exupéry on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of his death, in the presence of the family of the author of The Little Prince and the Mayor of Toulouse, Jean-Luc Moudenc.
This world premiere was performed at the Théâtre de la Cité with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse and the “A Bout de Souffle” choir, and won over the audience with its epic yet delicate dimension, whose notes recalled the innocence of The Little Prince and Antoine de Saint Exupéry’s commitment to freedom.
On the afternoon of July 4, the Aïda association organized a meeting with the artist. Audiences at Toulouse’s Lido were able to exchange views with the artist and Olivier d’Agay, the pilot-writer’s grand-nephew, on the values shared by music and the author of The Little Prince: universality, sharing and connection.
For the past 3 years, the Fondation Antoine de Saint Exupéry pour la Jeunesse has been working alongside the Association Aïda to promote access to art and cultural mediation for young audiences.
