From this autumn onwards, the trekking and adventure travel specialist Terres d´Aventure has chosen to revive the journeys of great explorers, among them Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, who is featured in its “2011 Family” catalogue. He was in love with deserts, oceans and the cordilleras, which he flew over to transport the Aéropostale’s mail to Senegal then to South America, even before we were able to travel there. It was the era of the pioneers of aviation.
Seen from above, the earth was never vast enough for this explorer-poet who always pushed his own limits ever further. But beyond the territories that he conquered, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was above all attached to universal humanist values, which he exalted in his writings and which the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation today strives to prolong by supporting concrete actions for youth. Terres d’Aventure is a patron of this initiative, as its humanist values correspond with those of the Foundation.
